These girls, from a local school, have been learning to play the Marimba during the last few months, and are participating in the "Festivalof Marimba" held annually in San Lucas

       The Marimba is like a giant xylophone, made of wood, and it normally takes three or four people, playing together, to produce the distinctive sound of the Marimba. It is Guatemala's national instrument

       The children have a natural love of music, and have no inhibitions about singing or dancing in front of their peers or parents
